The Database

Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining key processes and

procedures for the management of KCETLink's Development databases. The position

will oversee data extraction and report development and customization. The

Manager will also maintain data integrity and continuity by adherence to

established business rules and best practices. Works closely with Development,

IT and Digital Media teams to execute and optimize multi-channel direct

response campaigns.



  • Maintain overall integrity of donor databases

    through regular data improvement and hygiene, management of code values,

    standardization of data entry, enforcement of database business procedures

    and staying current on upcoming enhancements to functionality

  • Campaign file generation: establish and maintain marketing

    code conventions, create and update donor segmentation, review data files

    prior to delivery to third-party vendors

  • Responsible for building and maintaining database queries

    and outputs

  • Manage gift maintenance processes for Sustainer

    monthly giving program

  • Review and process post-campaign files (exceptions,

    dropped records, end of campaign files)

  • QC between systems and applications (data syncs,

    appends, hygiene processes such as NCOA)

  • Reporting: develop standardized reports for gift

    officers, update campaign performance reports and create ad hoc reports as


  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • 3-5 years experience in fundraising database

    management with preference given to experience with The Raiser's Edge and

    other Blackbaud products. Solid understanding of the principles of

    database management and business process workflow.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced skills

    in Excel

  • Knowledge and experience with SQL programming

    language a plus

  • Must be proactive, a quick learner and work well in

    a team environment

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

    with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

    Nonprofit work experience a plus
