DIGITAL MEDIA DIRECTOR

Digital Media Director will oversee KCETlinks online and mobile properties,

manage all technology related products, develop and execute online strategies

for all aspects of online communications for KCETlink.


The

Digital Media Director will work closely and report to the Sr. VP of Content

Development and Production.

 

Responsibilities:

·        

Develop and execute online strategies that advance KCETlink mission

·        

Serve as the primary manager of all KCET and LINKtv online and

mobile  properties

·        

Serve as primary manager of all KCETlink technology development

and needs

·        

Develop and execute online strategies that advance KCETlink

mission, including  member

communications, social media, blog, and other online campaign tools.

·        

Interface will all service elements and Departments of the

station including programming,

membership, sales and original productions.

·        

Manage online TV programming including

enhancements, streaming rights and  video.

·        

Oversee media management, encoding, server

·        

Establish and oversee a cohesive inter-departmental workflow

·        

Work closely with the promotion and marketing department to

oversee social  media handles

(Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), including drafting and  planning content.

·        

Assist in drafting content for the website, blog, email blasts,

and other  communications

materials, coordinating closely with the Communications VP and other staff to ensure that all

messaging and branding is integrated and consistent.

·        

Develop and maintain systems to measure the effectiveness of

member communications and

online activities. Produce regular data reports to track and analyze progress

and develop best practices to increase engagement.

·        

Coordinate the targeting and placement of web advertisements in

support of online campaigns.

·        

Consistently monitor news, blogs, and social media relating to KCETlink's

mission. Identify relevant content to share and other opportunities to engage

in the online conversation, in particular, among entertainment and tech-related

websites and blogs.

·        

Develop relationships with digital media managers among KCET

allies and Partners to find opportunities to amplify messaging.

·        

Develop creative online campaign activities to increase KCETlinks

email list and social media presence and garner media attention. Coordinate

online actions with allies and Coalition Partners.

·        

Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic

communications plans.

 

Job

Requirements:

 Minimum 6

years prior experience in Public TV and Media required, including two years in

the Los Angeles area Public Media market.

 

 Experience

should include:

  • Project management from both

    designer/developer and client ends
  • Web design/development

    maintenance
  • Social media implementation
  • HTML, CSS, working knowledge of

    web technologies
  • Final Cut Studio, various

    audio/video tools
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Audio/video production,

    studio/field, lighting
  • Writing, news reporting, copy

    editing
  • Compression, encoding, streaming

 

Prior KCET

experience desirable.

 

Education:

 Master of

Arts:  Media, communication or related,

or equivalent.
