Dana Sherrod

Dana Sherrod is the Perinatal Equity Manager with the Public Health Alliance of Southern California where she leads Cherished Futures for Black Moms & Babies—a multi-sector hospital quality improvement initiative to reduce Black infant and maternal health inequities among some of Los Angeles’ most prominent delivery hospitals. In her previous roles, she has spearheaded the launch of a statewide mental health advocacy and prevention program for Black women across California and has championed land use policies to improve the built environment in Los Angeles neighborhoods of color. Dana has committed her personal and professional life to the pursuit of health, gender, and racial justice with and for communities of color. She serves on the Los Angeles County African American Infant and Maternal Mortality Steering Committee and is on the Board of Directors for the Institute for Public Strategies. Dana holds a Master's degree in Public Health from San Jose State University.
