Ravi S. Rajan

Ravi S. Rajan is the fourth president of the California Institute of the Arts. He produces collaborative mixed-media projects with artists, filmmakers, directors and choreographers for museums, galleries, foundations, biennials, festivals and public spaces around the world. Rajan has held senior executive roles in higher education and consulted for the sector globally. He has degrees from the University of Oklahoma and Yale University, and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts; a former member of the Tony Awards Nominating Committee; and a past president of the Asian American Arts Alliance.

We must do better to understand, celebrate and support communities of artists during the coronavirus pandemic, the current economic recession and in the anti-racist movement surging across our country.
