Reem Assil is the woman behind Reem’s in Oakland’s Fruitvale. Her newest venture is a fine dining Arabic restaurant with Michelin-starred chef Daniel Patterson. She is a former community and labor organizer who is on a mission to build bridges of understanding between people. She is a 2017 graduate of the food business incubator, La Cocina.
