Rujeko Hockley

Rujeko Hockley is a San Diego-based writer, curator, and student. She received her B.A. in Art History from Columbia University in 2005. Since 2009, she has been pursuing her Ph.D. in Art History, Theory and Criticism at the University of California, San Diego where she specializes in modern and contemporary American art, with a particular focus on neo-avantgarde practices, social movements, the African diaspora, and critical race art history. Hockley recently co-produced an exhibition catalogue on artist Mike Calway-Fagen with the artist, and is a frequent contributor to STUDIO, the magazine of The Studio Museum in Harlem, among other publications.
