Sharman Apt Russell is a longtime writer, author of a dozen books translated into nine languages. Among other awards, her most recent nonfiction, Diary of a Citizen Scientist, won the 2016 John Burroughs Medal for Distinguished Nature Writing. She happily lives in the magical realism of rural New Mexico.
