Empty Calories
If you are still writing about how your blog/site has a Page Rank of 8 then I'm fairly sure you typed, "I am obsolete".
Keywords meta tags and page ranking, if you've been told that keywords in your meta tags matter for Google search, than get your money back.
Back when it mattered, if you put in keywords in your meta tags that didn't relate to you, but would get your page ranked, you got away with it. But the trend to "fake it" grew and Google decided not to use the "keywords" meta tag in their web search ranking. The often used Google web search disregards keyword metatags completely; in short they don't have any effect in a search ranking.
Some egregious examples of keyword meta tag stuffing on some sites include half the dictionary and phrases that have nothing to do with the site; for instance one health site has "alien planets" and "suzanne somers sexy years" in it's list of over 200 keyword meta tags. I am not calling out the site, because I don't want it to get any traffic.
So is it useful at all to put keywords in the meta tag? Maybe Google could use this information in the future, but don't bet on it. Google has ignored the keywords meta tag for years and I don't see a return to Google using it for page ranking. It's been abused and used and now it's just filler in your page source. But you might get a "SEO Guru" who will sell you on it, and charge you for the magic potion. Save your money and push your site through Facebook, Twitter, Friendfeed and other social networks. And make sure your site is easy to navigate, to the point and does what it says it does on the first page they land on.
