Picturing The Lakers

Support Provided By

Some say historytends to repeat itself. That may not be a good thing in every case, but Los Angeles Lakers fans won't complain if the pattern holds true for their boys in purple and gold.

After beating the Utah Jazz 111-96, the L.A. Lakers have advanced to the Western Finals. Lakers fans are fired up, and await the undersized Phoenix Suns. Away from the court, Laker flags have have crept up throughout the city. Laker jerseys are out of the closet and onto the streets. Even babies are dressed in Laker uniforms. Yes, the purple and gold is flying high!

So lets take a pictorial look back at last year's celebration. (If you've got new Lakers snaps feel free to add them to the KCET.org Southern California Flickr pool.)

And remember, once L.A. wins the Championship, you can add all your new Laker pics to the SoCal Flickr Pool.

California’s First Carbon Capture Project: Vital Climate Tool or License to Pollute?

California’s first attempt to capture and sequester carbon involves California Resources Corp. collecting emissions at its Elk Hills Oil and Gas Field, and then inject the gases more than a mile deep into a depleted oil reservoir. The goal is to keep carbon underground and out of the atmosphere, where it traps heat and contributes to climate change. But some argue polluting industries need to cease altogether.
