Have a picnic among the sprawling open space amidst impressive oak and sycamore trees, along a green section of the Los Angeles River. Then, with appropriate supervision, explore this lively stretch of the river filled with birds, fish, lizards, turtles and other creatures. Nearby is the Equestrian Center where you can rent or at least pet some horses.

Rancho Avenue at Western Avenue. Glendale, CA 91221.

DIRECTIONS

Car: Take the 5 Freeway and get off at Western Avenue. Head west on Western Avenue as it turns and becomes Rancho Avenue.

Transit: Take the 96 Bus and get off at Victory and Sonora. The bus drops you off in front of the park.
