How should we address the need for affordable housing?
In the 20th century, massive housing projects were constructed to meet the demand for low-income homes. They housed thousands of families but also isolated communities and became symbols of urban poverty. Mixed-income developments have also been used to address the challenges of employment, wages, and housing, but this approach has its critics. Modular housing, cooperatives, tiny apartments, and other developments also seek to address the issue.
