Looking for some new cocktail recipes -- especially some that are perfect for the holidays? These two were invented in local restaurants; both play with classic Christmas flavors to deliver unexpected sips.

"Baby, It's Cold Outside" from Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air
1 oz Myers's Dark Rum
½ oz Hennessy VS
½ oz simple syrup
1 oz heavy cream
1 whole egg
2 grates fresh nutmeg

Add ingredients to shaker (minus nutmeg)
Add ice to shaker
Shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Strain into martini glass
Add freshly grated nutmeg (2 strokes)

"Holidays on Ice" from Hinoki & the Bird
1oz Buffalo Trace
1oz Eagle Rare
0.75oz Lemon Juice
3/4 Cinnamon-Sugared Butternut Squash Juice*
1/2 Curacao**

* Combine 400ml of Butternut Squash Juice, 250ml of granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon until solids are dissolved.
** For curacao combine equal parts Grand Marnier and Simple Syrup.

Directions: Combine all ingredients into a shaker tin, dry shake without ice to "whip" ingredients together. Then strain over crushed ice and garnish with a mint sprig.
