Huell Howser Visits Philippe's and Donut Man
It's down to the final two iconic dishes in L.A.'s Iconic Dish competition, and the speculation is rampant. Is it Philippe's French dip, with its moist roast beef on crusty bread and flavorful jus? Or is it the mouth-watering and seasonal strawberry-stuffed donut from Donut Man, which provides a sugar fix so powerful that it keeps Angelenos waiting in line well into the wee hours of the morning?
One thing is for sure. Both of these dishes belong at the top, as they've long made their mark on the food landscape in this city of hungry angels. If any proof of this was needed, you just need to take a look at these two "Visiting with Huell Howser" clips, in which he visits both locations -- and falls in that special kind of love that so defines Huell -- with each of the dishes.
