Liquid Tuesday: Burger Week, Gnome Week and a WineFest to Boot
Any week is a good week to consider stopping off for a pint or a glass or a shot or what-have-you. But when is a week not just any old week? When places like The Oinkster and breweries like La Chouffe get involved. From Eagle Rock to Santa Monica, here are the best boozy events happening over the next several days.
Burger Week, which kicked off Monday at The Oinkster, continues strong through Sunday. The popular Eagle Rock 'slow fast food' eatery is doing riffs on American burger classics, like their own "Big Max" and the So-Cal inspired "2 x 4." They also happen to have a tasty taplist that's constantly rotating, but expect North Coast Pranqster and Craftsman 1903 to be great supply, because, what's better than burgers and beers?
Tonight, Golden Road Brewing is having a party at their pub, complete with vegan fare and plenty of canned beers. If the beach is more your speed (and little men in red hats is more your style), trek over to the popular Library Alehouse in Santa Monica on Thursday for Gnome Week. There's something very UNofficial about this celebration week, but why not use it as an excuse to drink some interesting Belgian beers from the La Chouffe folks, including a couple of pours from their sister brewery Ommegang.
The work week just not enough for you? Very well then, Saturday is stacked with the opening afternoon of the 7th Annual LA WineFest, taking place at Raleigh Studios on Melrose. The price is a bit steep, but comes with plenty of tastings of everything from wine to soju to scotch. If you don't feel like braving the Hollywood traffic, try making a beeline to Redlands, where popular craft brewer Hangar 24 celebrates their 4th year in full operation. The band Cracker will be there (mid-90's reference point here), and they'll be unveiling a surprise 4th anniversary beer. Plus, you can expect the regular amount of revelry surrounding a brewery anniversary. And if that doesn't get you excited for this week, not much will.
