Bananas could be considered the first superfood. When they were first imported to the U.S. in the early 20th century, they were touted as a cure-all as a marketing tactic to introduce the fruit to the masses. They're still highly recommended for ailments like upset stomach and muscle cramps, but we prefer bananas when they're in fun, decadent desserts.
