Super Bowl Recipe: Turkey Melt Sandwich
While most of a Super Bowl menu is made up of snacky things, it's a classy move to also offer something of a main dish. This sandwich from Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop, a restaurant with a few locations in L.A. and Orange counties, has won industry accolades, but it's simple enough to make at home for a crowd.
Turkey Melt Sandwich
1 pretzel bread bun
4 ounces sliced turkey
2 ounces sliced cheddar
¼ ounce spinach
1 ounce diced white onion
2 ounces whole grain mustard aioli
¼ tsp white truffle oil
Cut and open pretzel bread. Spread aioli on both sides. Layer turkey slices on both sides.
Saute onions in olive oil until carmelized, and add spinach. Once finished, add to sandwich on top of turkey.
Add cheddar to each side. Toast both sides open faced in a heated oven until cheese is fully melted.
Drizzle both sides with truffle oil once removed from oven.
Close sandwich and serve!
