Weekend Recipe: Grilled Turkey-Mango Chutney Burgers
Turkey burgers can be dry. Cook's Country found a surprising (and flavorful) ingredient that prevents ours from suffering the same fate.
To moisten them, we added mango chutney to the meat. Not only does the chutney take these burgers from dry to juicy, but it boosts the flavor of the turkey, too.
Grilled Turkey-Mango Chutney Burgers
Serves 4
INGREDIENTS
½ cup mayonnaise
3 garlic cloves, minced
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Salt and pepper
1 ½ pounds ground turkey
1 cup panko bread crumbs
½ cup mango chutney
4 hamburger rolls
4 leaves Bibb lettuce
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Whisk mayonnaise, 1 garlic clove and cayenne together in bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste; set aside.
2. Combine turkey, panko, chutney and remaining 2 garlic cloves in large bowl. Pat turkey mixture into four ¾-inch-thick patties. Season with salt and pepper. Grill over medium-hot fire until burgers register 160 degrees, 7 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway. Transfer burgers to rolls and top with mayonnaise mixture and lettuce. Serve.
