Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti stopped by KCETLink in mid 2014 to discuss L.A. River revitalization plans with our Departures team. Garcetti also congratulated the station on 50 years of serving L.A. and Southern California. As the city itself, the TV industry, and the network have evolved, Garcetti said the "spirit" of KCET hasn't wavered.

[KCET] remains constant. It remains rights there. As the technology has changed, as the channel has changed ... the spirit hasn't. Congratulations on 50 years and here's to another half century.
