Film’s stars Actors Sam Elliott and Nick Offerman and Director Bret Haley scheduled to attend.

The KCET Cinema Series launches its summer season at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica with “The Hero.” This moving new film from writer/director Bret Haley stars Sam Elliott, Laura Prepon, Nick Offerman and Krysten Ritter. Haley, Elliott and Offerman will be in attendance for a Q&A session following the screening moderated by series host Pete Hammond

“Even though there is this immense love for Sam, he hasn’t had the same opportunities to be a ‘leading man’ as other actors from his generation,” says Haley. “He told me ‘for a while there I could only get work if I was on a horse or a motorcycle.’ Sam was so much more to me than a man on a horse.”

The summer season of the KCET Cinema Series is generously sponsored by the James and Paula Coburn Foundation. The season begins June 6th and runs through August 1st. Season passes are available online via Eventbrite and individual admissions are available at the door for $25 each.
