KCET Cinema Series Screens 'Hell or High Water' on July 12
The KCET Cinema Series continues its summer screening series at the historic Aero Theatre in Santa Monica on July 12 with "Hell or High Water." From CBS Films, "Hell or High Water" stars Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine, Ben Foster and Gil Birmingham. The heist film is set in Texas, where two brothers intend to rob a bank in order to save their farm from foreclosure. "It's really about a bank robbery, but so much more," says KCET Cinema Series host Pete Hammond. "It goes much deeper than that when you see the reasons for why they're getting this money. It's a very unique story that says a lot about America today, about how we are and the way of the world, essentially, as it affects this country." Hammond will lead a Q&A session with producer Carla Hacken following the film showing.
Sponsored by the James and Paula Coburn Foundation and E. Hofert Dailey Trust, the KCET Cinema Series offers moviegoers advance screenings of the most anticipated films of the summer followed by lively post-screening Q&A's with the filmmakers and Hammond. The summer season runs through August 2 at the Aero Theatre.
