Q&A immediately following with director Ron Howard, actors Glenn Close and Amy Adams.
Based on J.D. Vance’s New York Times Bestseller, directed by Academy Award-winner Ron Howard and produced by Academy Award winner Brian Grazer, "Hillbilly Elegy" is a powerful personal memoir that offers a window into one family’s personal journey of survival and triumph. By following three colorful generations through their unique struggles, J.D.’s family story explores the highs and lows that define his family’s experience. Starring an ensemble cast that features Glenn Close, Amy Adams, Gabriel Basso, Haley Bennett, Frieda Pinto and more.
Howard shared, “My mom was from a very small town and my dad was a farm boy, and when I read this book I recognized that I had really been looking for a story that I could tell that would allow me to apply my own sensitivity to this aspect of our American culture that I really relate to through my family in a way these folks think and communicate and make the decisions that they make and live by the codes they live by.”
Immediately following the screening, Deadline's chief film critic Pete Hammond, who can also be seen on KCET’s Must See Movies, will moderate a Q&A with director Ron Howard, actors Glenn Close and Amy Adams. The film screens on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. PDT. Only $10 per viewing link. Limited space available.
