'Loving,' a Film About the Fight for Interracial Marriage, Will Open the Winter KCET Cinema Series
The KCET Cinema Series heads back to Sherman Oaks when the winter screening season opens on Tuesday, October 18 at ArcLight Cinemas, Sherman Oaks. Kicking off the season is "Loving," the Civil Rights-era drama about a couple whose marriage becomes the basis for Loving vs. Virginia, the 1967 Supreme Court case that legalized interracial marriage across the country. KCET Cinema Series host Pete Hammond commends the film for its "great performances." Stars Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga will join Hammond for a Q&A session following the screening. Also attending the Q&A is director Jeff Nichols.
The winter season of the KCET Cinema Series is proudly sponsored by the E. Hofert Dailey Trust. The season, which runs through December 13, is now sold out.
