Rachel Weisz's 'Denial' Screens at the KCET Cinema Series on September 27
The KCET Cinema Series continues its fall season on Tuesday, September 27 with a preview screening of "Denial," based on the compelling book by historian Deborah E. Lipstadt. Rachel Weisz portrays Lipstadt who, after the release of her book, is sued for libel by a Holocaust denier, played by Timothy Spall.
"It's a very powerful movie, very contemporary, very pertinent to what's going on now," says KCET Cinema Series Host Pete Hammond. "It's about demagogues and people will identify with it." Director Mick Jackson will sit down for a Q&A session with Hammond following the screening.
The fall season of the KCET Cinema Series runs weekly at the historic Aero Theatre in Santa Monica through October 10. It is generously sponsored by the James and Paula Coburn Foundation. Single admission to the films is available on the night of the screenings for $25 per person. Doors open at 6 p.m. For more information, see https://www.kcet.org/kcet-cinema-series.
