Rare 35mm Print of 1972 Film 'The Carey Treatment' Screens at the KCET Cinema Series on October 5
The KCET Cinema Series continues its fall season of film screenings on Wednesday, October 5, with a rarely shown 35 mm print of the 1972 MGM film "The Carey Treatment." The film stars James Coburn as a pathologist who is drawn into a deep source of corruption at the local hospital when he tries to clear a colleague of a murder charge.
"It's a lot of fun," says KCET Cinema Series host Pete Hammond. The Blake Edwards-directed film stars his daughter, Jennifer Edwards, in what was her second acting role. Hammond will be joined by Jennifer Edwards for an insightful pre-screening conversation about the making of the film.
The KCET Cinema Series is generously sponsored by the James and Paula Coburn Foundation. The series runs weekly at the historic Aero Theatre in Santa Monica through October 10. Individual admission is available on the night of the screening. Doors open at 6 p.m. For more information, go to https://www.kcet.org/kcet-cinema-series.
