The spring season of the KCET Cinema Series concludes on April 12 at ArcLight Cinemas Sherman Oaks with a screening of "The Meddler" from Sony Picture Classics.

"The Meddler" stars Susan Sarandon as Marnie Minervini, a widowed woman who moves across the country to be closer to her daughter, Lori (Rose Byrne). However, the mother-daughter relationship grows too close for Lori's comfort and Marnie turns her attention to others she has met now that she's living in Los Angeles.

Writer/director Lorene Scafaria, whose script was inspired by her own mother, and producer Joy Gorman Wettles will be on hand for a Q&A session following the screening. This week's Q&A will be led by Madelyn Hammond, president of Madelyn Hammond & Associates.

The KCET Cinema Series is sponsored by E. Hofert Dailey Trust. This year's spring season began in February with "Eye in the Sky" and has continued with eight weeks of independent film screenings and discussion sessions. The KCET Cinema Series is hosted by Pete Hammond, awards editor/columnist for Deadline Hollywood.
