On Tuesday, September 13, the KCET Cinema Series continues its fall season with a screening of "Mr. Church" at the historic Aero Theatre in Santa Monica. The film stars Eddie Murphy as the titular character, who helps out a young girl and her ailing mother, forming a deep bond with them.

KCET Cinema Series host Pete Hammond says this is a "shockingly surprising performance from Eddie Murphy, [a] dramatic performance like you've never seen." The film is directed by Bruce Beresford, who also directed Academy Award-winner "Driving Miss Daisy." Writer Susan McMartin will join Hammond for a Q&A session immediately following the screening.

The KCET Cinema Series is generously sponsored by the James and Paula Coburn Foundation. The fall season runs at the Aero Theatre weekly through October 10. Individual admission to the screenings are available at the door. For more information on the series, go to kcet.org/cinemaseries.
