The KCET Cinema Series is proud to announce a special screening of Tomas Alfredson's adaptation of John le Carré's 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.'

Based on the classic novel of the same name from the premier spy novelist of his time, perhaps of all time, John le Carré, the international thriller is set at the height of the Cold War years of the mid-20th Century. George Smiley (Gary Oldman), a disgraced British spy, is rehired in secret by his government - which fears that the British Secret Intelligence Service, a.k.a. MI-6, has been compromised by a double agent working for the Soviets.

Following the screening and Q & A with Gary Oldman, the KCET Lumiere Award established to recognize excellence in an actor or filmmaker for their outstanding contribution in their discipline will be awarded to Mr. Oldman by Socal Connected's Val Zavala. Previous KCET Lumiere Award winners have been Ian McKellen in 2003 and Judi Dench in 2005.
