Mark Wahlberg In-Person for 'Father Stu' Screening at the KCET Cinema Series
The film screens on Tuesday, March 29 at 7 p.m. Series passes and tickets available at the door of the Aero Theatre, or by clicking below.
Wahlberg said he was struck by the true-life story of Stuart Long, and it stuck with him. By all accounts the Montana born and raised former boxer was abrasive, hot-tempered and rough around the edges. He was brutally honest with everyone, delivering good news and bad with the same dispassionate directness. In short, he seemed an unlikely candidate to provide the guidance and comfort of a priest under any circumstances. "The more I heard about Stu, the more convinced I was that I had to get this movie made," Wahlberg says.
Immediately following the screening, Deadline's chief film critic Pete Hammond, who can also be seen on KCET's Must See Movies, will moderate a Q&A with producer and Academy Award-nominated actor Mark Wahlberg, and writer-director Rosalind Ross.
The long-running in-person series returns in March/April to the historic Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, while the popular virtual series continues on Eventive, a technology platform designed specifically to enhance the online film viewing experience.
