Q&A immediately following with producer Ron Perlman.

Grieving the recent death of his wife, Shmuel (Geza Rohrig) is a Hasidic cantor in upstate New York struggling to make peace with his loss. After a series of disturbing dreams, he grows increasingly obsessed with how her body will decay. Shmuel decides that, in order to move on, he must understand the science behind the decomposition process of his wife’s body - despite the blasphemy to his faith that any scientific inquiry would produce.

To assist his sinful pursuit, he seeks out Albert (Matthew Broderick), a community-college biology professor who Shmuel enlists to teach him informal science lessons. These soon grow to include homemade experiments and a road trip to a body farm as their grim misadventures and unlikely friendship grow even more peculiar. In the end, the odd couple prove they will stop at nothing to satisfy their curiosity and, ultimately, find Shmuel the peace he seeks. Director Shawn Snyder’s dark buddy comedy is a quirky look at death, biology, mourning, tradition and Jewish humor in the extreme as the two new friends embark on an increasingly literal adventure into the underworld.

The film screens at 7:00 p.m. at the ArcLight Cinemas in Sherman Oaks. Immediately following the screening, Deadline’s chief film critic Pete Hammond, who can also be seen on KCET’s Must See Movies, will moderate a Q&A session with producer Ron Perlman who audiences may know from his acting roles in "Sons of Anarchy," "Hellboy" and "Beauty and the Beast." “To Dust” will be released by Good Deed Entertainment on February 8, 2019.
