Organization/Business: Asian America: The Ken Fong Podcast

Website: http://asianamericapodcast.com/?page_id=20

“Ken has hosted and co-produced a weekly podcast that explores the cultural, artistic, historical, and spiritual aspects of the Asian American community. Without any agenda, Ken is truly interested and passionate in learning more about his guests and what they are doing to transform what it means to be Asian American."

       Albert Chang, Nominator

About the nominee:

Ken Fong has served as the host and co-producer of “Asian America: The Ken Fong Podcast” since its debut in 2015. The podcast has attracted listeners throughout the U.S. and in over 100 countries. Fong, a third generation Chinese-American, shares stories and thoughts from his own life during each podcast and interviews guests across all sectors of society who are transforming what it means to be Asian American. Fong also served as the senior pastor of the Evergreen Baptist Church of Los Angeles, where he pioneered several cutting edge ministries, not the least of which was to extend the church’s hospitality to Asian American Pacific Islander Christians who identify as LGBTQ. He retired in July 2017 from pastoring, but continues to consult with pastors and Christian organizations that are exploring the embracing of LGBTQ persons, too.
