Title: Field Director

Organization/Business: Power California

Website: https://powercalifornia.org/people/2018/3/6/mynor-godoy

“Mynor represents an entire team of leaders at Power California committed to equipping young people of color with the political skills to impact and build power across their communities. Personally, he's modeled what it means to be an innovator that's accountable to his base, leading with a vision that’s inclusive of underrepresented communities and particularly young people to effect change in California.” Ishraq Mir Ali, Nominator

About the nominee:

Mynor Godoy is the son of Guatemalan immigrants, born into the diaspora that has made Los Angeles home. Godoy was the first in his family to attend college and worked with the Early Academic Outreach Program at the University of California, Irvine to ensure more students of color from underserved communities had access to higher education. His experiences in college and graduate school fueled Godoy’s passion for student advocacy and community organizing. In his role as Field Director, Godoy coordinates and supports voter registration and contact campaigns for 16 to 34 year olds across the state of California in collaboration with twenty network partners and allies. As a result, the Power CA network has been able to contact over 100,000 voters this year alone through youth-led, peer-to-peer outreach and distributed organizing in preparation for the 2020 election.
