How Do You Envision a Riverfront District?: Schanique Kennedy
On April 27, 2013, the Northeast L.A. Riverfront Collaborative hosted the River Bike + Walk Spectacular at Marsh Park in Elysian Valley. During the festivities, community members and visitors shared their stories and experiences of the river as part of the KCET Departures StoryShare event. Here are their stories.

How would you envision a "Riverfront District" in Northeast L.A.?
Basically we can set up a system without pollution or anything negative, getting into our waters. So that everything is well-maintained for the community and for our water system. More bike trails, more places to hang out for the children and families, because people like to come and just sit by the river and enjoy themselves, enjoy the view and our community.
If there was one place in Northeast L.A. that you would change, where would it be and how would you change it?
If I could change one area in Northeast L.A. [it would be] by Dodger Stadium because we do see a lot of pollution in the waters and you know trash in the area, so we can clean up and do our part conservation-wise. I think that would be a better area for the community.
