Nathan Solis was raised in El Sereno in Northeast Los Angeles where he sometimes ventured beyond his front yard. He has not travelled far in his 28 years, landing in Highland Park, where he writes about local politics, art and other stories. He has a photo blog and dozens of notebooks to prove the existence of a novel in the works.

His stories and photos can be found at his photo blog Avenue Meander or at The Eastsider LA.

He is the co-founder of the music blog Smashed Chair.
