Host David Attenborough Explores the Obstacles that Animals Must Overcome to Ensure Their Existence

Burbank, Calif. – Oct. 18, 2017 – KCET, the nation’s largest independent public television station, today announced the station’s premiere of acclaimed documentary series LIFE as part of its environmental programming lineup. Highlighting KCET’s initiative to help save and heal the planet through inspiring new shows that celebrate the earth, KCET will broadcast 10 episodes that explore global wildlife habitats and their extraordinary strategies for survival. From the award-winning BBC Natural History Unit with narration by renowned naturalist David Attenborough, the series was filmed across every continent and extracts the incredible stories from the frontiers of the natural world. LIFE premieres on Tues., Nov. 7 at 9 p.m. PT on KCET in Southern California with encores on Tuesdays at 11 p.m., Thursdays at 12 p.m. and Fridays at 1 a.m.

The lineup of episodes in November will be telecast as follows (*subject to change):

“Challenges of Life” - Tues., Nov. 7 at 9 p.m. PT

Cheetahs band together to tackle ostriches, dolphins form perfect rings to trap fish, and a seal struggles to escape its attackers amongst the ice of Antarctica.

“Reptiles and Amphibians”- Tues., Nov. 14 at 9 p.m. PT

Reptiles and amphibians have used their ancient, cold-blooded body to master the harshest environments on the planet. Komodo dragons hunt buffalo and sea snakes breed in caves.

“Mammals”- Tues., Nov. 21 at 9 p.m. PT

More than 10 million fruit bats leave the Congo basin and converge in special trees in Zambia.

“Fish”- Tues., Nov. 28 at 9 p.m. PT

Swim with sharks, mudskippers and convict fish in the freshwater springs of Kenya.
