**BREAKING**Tonight SoCal Connected Reports on Alleged Mismanagement of Funds by Compton City Council KCETLink's Award-Winning News Program Asks if Compton Could be the Next Bell
Airing Tonight at 5:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Burbank, Calif., March 27, 2013 - In tonight's program, SoCal Connected (www.socalconnected.org), the award-winning news program, investigates the mishandling of finances by the Compton City Council. With the mayor's seat, as well as those of two Council members and the city treasurer, up for re-election in two weeks, correspondent Laurel Erickson discovers that the Council is earning most of its salary by attending committee meetings that consistently last less than five minutes. Additionally, she questions several city officials in an attempt to understand why a $3.5 million loan to a local Council donor has yet to be paid back.
Several Bell officials were recently convicted of mismanaging funds as that city works to recover from the scandal. Tune in to SoCal Connected on KCET tonight to see if Compton could be next.
