Interactive Online EARTH FOCUS Map Series Focuses on High-Stakes Environmental Change In Which Past or Projected Human Impact is Visually Demonstrated
Burbank, Calif. – May 3, 2017 – KCETLink Media Group, a leading national independent nonprofit public broadcast and digital network, has announced a new online series of data and map-based content initiatives that are launching today on both KCET.org and LinkTV.org, presented by the environmental series EARTH FOCUS and in partnership with ALMA and Friends. The maps provided by ALMA and Friends have been converted into an interactive framework that focuses on high-stakes environmental changes in the areas surrounding the Missouri Watershed, namely the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL). This initiative is accompanied by seven editorial pieces to expand on these maps and contextualize DAPL’S implications. In addition to the news stories, KCETLink will release three social media videos to join the project’s visual elements. This initiative was launched to offer an interactive basis around which articles, short videos, and eventually broadcast content will be developed.
