Dodgers Stories: 6 Decades in LA is a look back at the colorful history of the team through the eyes of the fans, as well as the players. Through archival footage, interviews and historical photos, the program will explore the rich saga of the team that has been in LA since 1958. The program premieres this Thanksgiving on Thurs., Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. on PBS SoCal and will also air at 8:30 p.m. on KCET. Following the broadcast, the film will be available for streaming exclusively on PBS Passport, the member-supported streaming service.
PBS SoCal accolades include receiving four out of five nominations in prestigious ‘Feature Documentary’ category along with nominations in 23 additional categories.
With emphasis on "Family Math," PBS SoCal also announces plans for new digital games and YouTube bilingual food series "Cooking Counts" featuring Patty Rodriguez introducing math fundamentals through easy recipes for the whole family to experience together.
Curated AAPI programming features actor-activist George Takei in TO BE TAKEI and photographer Corky Lee in "Photographic Justice: The Corky Lee Story"; plus, screening event at Los Angeles Public Library honors Foster Care Awareness Month in May with local premiere of "Possible Selves: Overcoming the Odds in Foster Care."
