In 2017, KCET and Link TV launched the first film festival in Los Angeles dedicated entirely to environmental issues called the Earth Focus Environmental Film Festival. The event is open to the public featuring acclaimed films tackling the most important and relevant global environmental issues today.
The second Earth Focus Environmental Film Festival will take place Sat., April 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Laemmle Monica Film Center with sponsors that include Green Wish, a grassroots nonprofit that helps other local nonprofit green organizations fund projects for their communities, and Deadline.com, the official media sponsor for the festival (See our Partners and Sponsors page for more information). Celebrity environmental activists will introduce each film that will be followed by post-screening dialogues with the filmmakers. The full-day festival will also showcase green organizations in Los Angeles including Heal The Bay, River LA and Sierra Club among others, with booths set up on the mezzanine of the Laemmle offering important environmental educational information to attendees.
Online ticket reservations for Saturday's EARTH FOCUS Environmental Film Festival at the Laemmle Monica are available via kcet.org/green and tickets will be available at the door starting at 9:30 a.m. Please plan to be at the check-in table no later than 15 minutes before the start of the film you would like to see to reserve your tickets.
Additional Information
Laemmle Monica Film Center is located at 1332 2nd Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401
Metered street parking is available as well as a paid parking lot directly across the street. The Laemmle does not validate for any parking lot in the area. The Laemmle is a very short walk north from the final Metro Station (Expo Line). Please bring your Metro or Tap Card to receive a special giveaway item from KCET. Festival attendees will be able to purchase a discounted $5 popcorn and soda.
All films are unrated and there is no age limit for any of the films featured in the Earth Focus Environmental Film festival. It's a good idea to arrive about 30 minutes prior to the start of the film. Admission is on a per film basis only.
