Title

Get to Know MI5 from the Beginning on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 9 PM

Burbank, CA - October 1, 2012 - KCET, the

nation's largest independent public television station, reboots the

action-packed drama, MI5, to the

first season beginning Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 9 p.m.

A topical and edgy drama about passion, jeopardy and the

intrigue of people who have to lie for a living and can never tell the truth to

their loved ones about what they do, MI5 is

among the station's top-rated dramas from the BBC.

This

fast-moving series takes viewers into the thrilling world of MI5, the

clandestine security service, and follows the daring exploits of Section B, a

small group of top-flight agents in the counter-terrorism division. Tied

closely to events happening around the globe, the stories interweave high-tech,

covert plans of action with the complications that such highly pressured jobs

bring to interpersonal relationships - outside and inside of the department.

In the

post-9/11 world where the role of the Intelligence services and secret agents

is being thrown into greater relief,
MI5

is a timely drama created by David Wolstencroft (Psychos) and boasts a strong

cast: Matthew Macfadyen (Pride And Prejudice, Secret Life, Enigma); Keeley

Hawes (Ashes To Ashes, Tipping The Velvet); Peter Firth (Pearl Harbor, The Hunt

for Red October); and Jenny Agutter (An American Werewolf In London, The Eagle

Has Landed, Logan's Run). Guest stars also include: Anthony Head (Buffy, Little

Britain); Hugh Laurie (Stuart Little, House); Kevin McNally (Pirates of the
Caribbean); and David Calder (Bramwell, Perfume).

The series has

won multiple awards, including: BAFTA Best Drama Series 2002; International

EMMY Nomination Best Drama 2005; and BAFTA Best Interactive TV Website 2005.

Catch

MI5 in back-to-back episodes from 9 to 11 p.m. on Oct. 3, 10, 17, and 24, and then every Wednesday night at 9

p.m
.
