Burbank, Calif. – March 28, 2017 – KCETLink Media Group, a leading national independent nonprofit public broadcast and digital network, announced today a new line up of documentaries for KCET and Link TV’s LINK VOICES documentary series in April, which tell the powerful stories of people who fought back against all odds to have their voices heard.
With the month of April designated as Sexual Assault Awareness Month, LINK VOICES will host the television broadcast premiere of “It Happened Here,” that showcases the brave personal testimonials of five student sexual assault survivors who transform their experiences into a springboard for change. This compelling documentary, from director Lisa F. Jackson and producer Marjorie Schwartz Nielsen, features raw and intimate interviews with students from college campuses across the country who describe surviving sexual assault only to be met with apathy, disbelief, blame and retaliation from the authorities when they tried to report the crime.
KCET.org and LinkTV.org will publish Online editorial content at KCET.org/linkvoices and LinkTV.org/linkvoices will give readers an immersive experience to help inform them on the issue of sexual assault at universities across the country.
April also marks the KCET and Link TV LINK VOICES premiere of the documentary “U.S. vs. John Lennon,” about the iconic Beatles band member who ignited a powerful movement for world peace during the late 1960s and early 1970s.
LINK VOICES provides viewers with a unique collection of documentaries that showcases a variety of perspectives, untold stories and regional flavors. This impactful documentary series features cultural, social and environmental issues throughout history and how these issues affect society today.

The 2006 documentary follows English musician John Lennon’s transformation from a member of The Beatles to a rallying anti-war activist striving for world peace. This documentary by Errol Morris is the story of America as seen through the eyes of the former Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara as he takes us on an insider's view of the seminal events of the 20th Century. The film combines extraordinary archival footage, recreations, declassified White House recordings, and features an original score by Oscar® nominated composer Philip Glass. The film is a disquieting and powerful essay on war, rationality, and human nature.
