Burbank, Calif. – Mar. 2, 2020 – KCET, Southern California's home for award-winning public media programming, announced today the return of hit British crime dramas DEATH IN PARADISE and FATHER BROWN. With eight new episodes in season nine of DEATH IN PARADISE, DI Jack Mooney has settled into life on the glorious Caribbean island of Saint Marie but the murders keep coming and they’re more baffling than ever. Fans of FATHER BROWN will be thrilled to find ten new season eight episodes of their favorite charismatic priest, based on the character created by G.K. Chesterton.

DEATH IN PARADISE follows a sun, sea and sand-hating British inspector who is transferred to the fictional Caribbean island of St. Marie. Season nine stars Ardal O'Hanlon in his last season as the role of DI Jack Mooney. This season, a romantic encounter prompts some soul-searching for Jack and the team is in need of a new DI. Enter Inspector Neville Parker (The Royle Family’s Ralf Little), a brilliant puzzle-solving detective from the north of England who is allergic to everything on the island. Season nine of DEATH IN PARADISE premieres on Mon., April 6 at 8 p.m. PT on KCET in Southern California.

Next up, fan-favorite devout Roman Catholic priest / amateur sleuth returns for season eight of the hit UK series FATHER BROWN, which originally debuted in 2013. Set in the early 1950’s in a fictional Cotswold village, Mark Williams stars as the eponymous crime-solving cleric as he solves murder mysteries through spiritual and philosophical thought processes rather than scientific deduction. In the new season, Father Brown investigates the murder of an eccentric beekeeper, uncovers the hidden motivations behind a deadly art exhibition and attempts to prove the innocence of a young socialite. FATHER BROWN season eight premieres on Mon., April 6 at 9 p.m. PT on KCET in Southern California.

Episode 1: New Year’s Eve celebrations are cut short when a masked man stabs a woman in her own home. Jack and the team must uncover the identity of the mystery murderer before they strike again.

9 p.m. FATHER BROWN
Episode 1: A mysterious saboteur tries to stop Kembleford winning the Three Counties choir competition.
 

Monday, April 13
8 p.m. DEATH IN PARADISE
Episode 2: DI Jack Mooney and the team are put to the test when a celebrated artist is poisoned in her studio in confounding circumstances.

9 p.m. FATHER BROWN
Episode 2: Father Brown investigates the mysterious death of a beekeeper.
 

Monday, April 20
8 p.m. DEATH IN PARADISE
Episode 3: Jack’s romance with Anna blossoms while he and the rest of the team investigate the mysterious death of a cyclist during a race.

9 p.m. FATHER BROWN
Episode 3: Father Brown races to save Bunty from the hangman's noose when she is tried for murder.
 

Monday, April 27
8 p.m. DEATH IN PARADISE
Episode 4: Jack faces a life-changing decision whilst investigating the murder of a man found dead in a boat off the Saint Marie coast.

9 p.m. FATHER BROWN
Episode 4: Murder is no laughing matter when Father Brown visits a jester convention.
