KCET Appoints Kirk Kopic As Senior Executive, Corporate Sponsorships

LOS ANGELES, CA, Dec. 14, 2011 - KCET, the nation's largest independent public television station serving Southern and Central California, announced that Kirk Kopic has joined the KCET Development team as Senior Executive, Corporate Sponsorships. He reports to Susan Reardon, KCET's Chief Development Officer.
 

Kopic, a management executive whose 30 years' experience spans leadership positions at technology start-up, turnaround and NYSE companies, will have the primary responsibility of securing funding for new program development and existing projects.
 

Previous to KCET, Kopic was President and COO of MeeVi, a start up technology company based in La Canada, Calif., which develops live television for Smartphones worldwide. While at MeeVi, Kopic developed a global distribution strategy for the technology and was part of the team that secured the company's first round of funding.
 

Before MeeVi, Kopic spent two years at Vimation, a technology company providing major brands with interactive video applications to enhance their customers' online experience.  While there, Kopic repositioned the company to a broader clientele ranging from automotive to entertainment to broadcasting, and grew revenues by more than 50%.
 

Kopic also has held executive positions at Google as Senior Agency Lead; Radio/TV One as Senior Director of Sales; CBS Radio as Director of Sales; and DIRECTV as Vice President of Advertising Sales. 
 

He was awarded the 2004 "Humanitarian of the Year" from the Advertising Industry Emergency Fund.
