KCET BOLSTERS ITS SALES FORCE WITH TWO NEW YORK CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP REPS

Stuart Zuckerman and Phil Kirk will secure BBC sponsors, and more for KCET

Los Angeles, CA­, August 8, 2011- KCET, the nation's largest independent public television station serving Southern and Central California, announced the hiring of two new corporate sponsorship representatives on the East Coast.

Stuart Zuckerman and Phil Kirk are the newest additions to the KCET corporate sponsorship team and will be based in New York City.

Zuckerman, a former VP of Sales and Marketing for PBS' "Nightly Business Report," will have the primary responsibility of securing national corporate sponsors for the "BBC World News" program that airs nationally on public TV stations. In addition, Zuckerman will seek corporate funding for "The Time to Care," a new web/television project about health care for aging adults which is planned to launch nationally in 2012.

Kirk, an industry-recognized leader of online delivery of broadcast and business news for the television industry, will market local KCET sponsorship opportunities for the Los Angeles corporate sponsorship community in the New York marketplace.

Bios

STUART ZUCKERMAN

Zuckerman retired in June after 10 years as VP/Sales and Marketing for PBS' "Nightly Business Report", where he managed the program's corporate sponsorship sales, marketing and PR. Prior to joining "NBR", he was a Corporate Sponsorship Director in the PBS Sponsorship Group, based at WNET/NY, where he secured sponsors for a wide variety of programs, from "3 Tenors in Paris;'98" to the "Teletubbies", from "ITN World News" to "Washington Week"

Before making the switch to the not-for-profit media world in 1998, Zuckerman spent

20 years in commercial TV sales management positions with Metromedia and Katz Television

Zuckerman is a graduate of Dartmouth College, where he currently serves as Co-Chair of the Board of Overseers of Dartmouth Broadcasting, licensee of the student-run commercial FM radio station.

PHIL KIRK

Phil Kirk is a sales manager at TVNewscheck.com, an industry-recognized leader of online delivery of broadcast and business news for the television industry. In addition, Phil publishes a weekly online newsletter - SaleawayNS on Long Island that updates local gas prices and sale items at area supermarkets.

Before entering the digital world in 2008, Phil was a 30 year spot broadcast executive with Blair Television in New York. He managed and sold spot commercial time for major industry groups and independent operators. 

Phil is a graduate of St. John's University, NY and is a volunteer at St. Patrick's Cathedral, NY and with Make A Wish Foundation of Greater New York.
