KCET Celebrates Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transexual Pride Month with Special Programming in June

PROGRAMMING IN JUNE

CA - June 1, 2012 -KCET is pleased to present a month of special programming in
honor of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Pride month in June,
bringing awareness and understanding about the LGBT experience in America, and
including prominent LGBT leaders as entertainer Jane Lynch and Richard
Zaldivar, a KCET Community Advisory Board Member and President and founder of
The Wall/Las Memorias Project.
The Life is the longest running television show to feature the faces, voices
and stories shaping the LGBT experience. Produced by In The Life Media, the
series provides audiences with effective ways to advance equality within
and beyond communities.
The Life episode "Orgullo Latino," airing June 18 at 10:30 p.m., captures the
emerging movement of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Latinos in the
United States. It explores the complexity of the Latino experience in the
United States with a look at gay and lesbian Latinos who are stepping up to
create change, shatter stereotypes and become leaders within their communities,
including Richard Zaldivar, a KCET Community Advisory Board Member and
President and founder of The Wall/Las Memorias Project.

diverse Latino LGBTQ community and contributes to a greater conversation to the

airing Tuesday, June 19 at 10 p.m.,
charts the history of Chicago's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender
