KCET Presents Acclaimed Concert Special 'Pavarotti in Central Park' on Wednesday, April 10 at 8 p.m.

legendary tenor Luciano Pavarotti in the once-in-a-lifetime concert special

 airing Wednesday, April 10 at 8 p.m. This 90-minute program is hosted by renowned opera singer and KCET's

 host, Suzanna Guzmán, accompanied by

in-studio guests, mezzo-sopranos Gloria Lane and Cynthia Munzer.

Before an audience of 500,000 adoring fans, and backed by the

New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Pavarotti dazzles the crowd with a virtuoso

concert of some of the greatest opera arias of all time. Recorded live in New

York City's Central Park on June 26, 1993, this special features Pavarotti's

performances of  "Quando le sere al placido" from Verdi's

Luisa Miller; "Fra poco a me ricovero" from Donizetti's Lucia di

Lammermoor; "Il lamento di Federico" from Cilea's L'arlesiana; and

"Occi de fata" by Donza.

Throughout the special, KCET will also offer several premier

pairs of reduced priced tickets to LA Opera's performance of Tosca on Wednesday, June 5 at 7:30 p.m.
