Go Behind the Scenes on Hit BBC Series 'Father Brown'

KCET Presents: 'Father Brown: Saving Souls, Solving Crimes'

BURBANK, CA - Mar. 4, 2015 -KCET, the nation's largest independent public television station serving Southern and Central California, presents FATHER BROWN: SAVING SOULS, SOLVING CRIMES,a special behind-the-scenes look at the making of popular BBC crime series FATHER BROWN. The special premieres Sun., Mar. 15 at 9 p.m. on KCET, immediately following the regular airing ofFATHER BROWN at 8 p.m.

Shot on location in The Cotswolds in south central England, the 90-minute special includes interviews with the series leads: Mark Williams (Father Brown), Nancy Carroll (Lady Felicia), Sorcha Cusak (Mrs. McCarthy), Alex Price (Sid Carter) and Tom Chambers (Inspector Sullivan). FATHER BROWN: SAVING SOULS, SOLVING CRIMES allows viewers to delve deeper into the mind of Father Brown and the making of the series.

Viewers also will hear behind-the-scenes stories from series co-creators/writers, Rachel Flowerday and Tahsin Guner, as well as writer Jude Tindall. Series costume designer Giles Gale will share how he approaches creating the period-perfect wardrobe.

The special also includes clips from the series' first two seasons, as well as on-location footage from centuries-old Cotswolds villages and its renowned, pastoral countryside.

FATHER BROWN follows a kindly cleric as he solves crimes in his English countryside community. Each episode sees the enigmatic priest investigate a crime in his own particular way, using intuition and psychology. Father Brown discovers the truth of a crime by looking into the truth of the soul - the passions, dark secrets, hidden desires, and uses his years spent hearing his parishioners' confessions as insight into the workings of the criminal mind.

But the stories are not concerned with judgment - Father Brown is more interested in saving souls than bringing the guilty to justice.

FATHER BROWN airs regularly Sundays at 8 p.m. on KCET.
