KCET President Al Jerome Honored as "Distinguished Communicator of the Year"

Los Angeles, CA - May 5, 2011 - Al Jerome, President and CEO of KCET, has been named the 2011 recipient of "Distinguished Communicator of the Year" by the College of Communications at California State University, Fullerton.

The Department of Communications Annual Scholarship & Awards Night will take place on Friday, May 13, 2011 at the Richard M. Nixon Library & Birthplace in Yorba Linda, CA.

"KCET and Cal State Fullerton have established a close relationship over the years and I am truly honored to have been selected for this award," said Mr. Jerome.

"Al's leadership as president and chief executive officer of public television station KCET along with being the driving force behind public television's innovativeness and longevity warrant this award," said Anthony Fellow, department chair, College of Communications at California State University, Fullerton.

Previous honorees include Emmy-Award winning television reporter Stan Chambers, editor of The Orange County Register Ken Brusic and Associated Press journalist Linda Deutsch.
