KCET REBROADCASTS PRIME SUSPECT SEASON ONE BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 21 AT 9 PM
Get Familiar with the British Original Only on KCETLos Angeles, CA - August 10, 2011 - With an American version of Prime Suspectlaunching this fall, KCET, the nation's largest independent public television station serving Southern and Central California, announced it will begin airing Season One of the highly acclaimed British drama original series Prime Suspect, starting Wednesday, September 21 at 9 p.m. As always on KCET, viewers can experience the series commercial-free.
Starring Academy® award-winner Helen Mirren as Detective Chief Inspector Jane Tennison, a tenacious, difficult and brilliant detective, the series details the trials and tribulations of Tennison trying to prove herself in a male-dominated world. From a new take on feminism to bringing out important social issues, Prime Suspect has left a lasting impression on television and pop culture.
"The original Prime Suspect has become an iconic dramatic series due to its smart storylines and extraordinary acting," said Bohdan Zachary, KCET's vice president of Broadcasting & Program Development. "We thought it would be great to give viewers a unique vantage point with the chance to see the much-heralded British version of Prime Suspect from the beginning before they watch a new Americanized one."
Prime Suspect Season One will air on KCET every Wednesday at 9 p.m., for the full 12 hour-long episodes.
Prime Suspect is one of several British programs that have delivered some of KCET's highest ratingssince becoming an independent public television station.
