uarterly series begins with all things British in celebration of the 

2012 Summer Olympics in London


Burbank, CA - July 10, 2012--Globe Trekker, the most-watched travel

series in the world, comes to KCET with a new groundbreaking series; Global L.A., examining the

region's ties to a number of destinations and cultures around the world.  KCET and Globe Trekker will co-produce four original quarterly specials that

begin airing July 24, 2012 at 8 p.m. only on KCET.

Los

Angeles is one of the world's largest melting pots, with inhabitants from every

country, culture and influence. 

The new series, hosted by Zay Harding, will juxtapose the local lives and lifestyle of a number of

immigrant communities to their native homelands.  The two-hour series will air quarterly over the course of a

year.

The premiere episode explores all

things British in Southern California, with the program debuting days before

the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Southern California boasts the second

largest British population outside of the United Kingdom.  Through various locations and stories,

viewers will uncover which English celebrities call Los Angeles home and learn

the history around the enormous migration of British citizens to the Southland

that started after World War I.
