KCETLink and The James and Paula Coburn Foundation Celebrate 40th Anniversary of 'The Last of Sheila' with Special Screening at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on April 9
Co-Stars Dyan Cannon and Richard Benjamin to Participate in Q&A Immediately Following the Screening
BURBANK, CALIF. - April 2, 2013 - KCETLink the new national independent public media organization created by KCET's recent merger with the Bay Area-based independent media company, Link Media, in collaboration with the James and Paula Coburn Foundation (JPCF), will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the classic murder mystery film, The Last of Sheila, with a special screening during the KCET Cinema Series at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on April 9 at 7 p.m.
"We're proud to honor James Coburn's legacy in this film, as well as the extraordinary performances by the entire cast," said Lynda Erkiletian, executive director of the James and Paula Coburn Foundation. "This will be an unforgettable event."
Co-stars Dyan Cannon and Richard Benjamin will participate in a lively Q&A following the screening with renowned film expert, Pete Hammond. Afterwards, attendees will be treated to a post-screening reception. Other special guests in attendance will include: actress/singer Lainie Kazan, singer/songwriter Tommy Roe, actresses Paula Prentiss and Susan Blakely and the Coburn family.
"I'm excited, but also in disbelief that we're celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Last of Sheila. It seems like yesterday that we were on location filming," said actress Dyan Cannon. "This was a great film, and just like fine wine, it gets better with age."
Actor Richard Benjamin added, "A great script by Anthony Perkins and Stephen Sondheim, a great cast, three and half months in the south of France and perhaps best of all, a lasting treasured friendship with Jim Coburn is why I love this movie."
